Halloween, a FULL month of blogging(!!) and plans for November

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Or ‘All Hallows Eve’, whichever one you like to use, HAPPY DAY.

To celebrate Halloween I want to share with you my all time favourite song at the moment, that’s given me some pretty big inspiration for two of my projects right now. It’s a very eerie twist on the song ‘Bad Moon Rising’ by Creedence Clearwater. And it’s AMAZING.

The 31st of this month also marks a FULL month of blogging. To say I’m a little proud of myself is an understatement, I thought this was just going to be another thing that I’d say I’d do but then just give up after two days. But no, I’ve been consistent EVERYDAY with my blog posts, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Once again, thank you so much to everyone who has read them, even if you’ve only read one a week, I really really appreciate it bromigo’s!

My Plans for November

I have a few days off work, with which I want to sort my room out, mainly my desk space. I also want to eat a bit healthier, the amount of sugary sweets I’ve had these past few days, is ridiculous!

Project K, and Project FanFiction are going to be under full swing as of tomorrow and I’m so so excited. Project FanFiction, depending on how fast I write it and which ideas I choose to do, will hopefully get released December or January. Today would’ve been a perfect release date, as the first scene is set on Halloween!! (dammit I missed out there).

In terms of personal development, I have a few goals. I’ve noticed my negativity is creeping back, and also my stress levels are rising. So I’m going to try exercising and meditation. I’ve heard they can help!

And that’s it bromigo’s, thank you for staying with me this long! I’m getting a ton of likes on these blog posts, so THANK YOU. However I’d love to actually hear from you guys in the comments too, so tell me your November goals in the comments!

Until next time, catch ya later Bromigo’s x.

Work and Play – Finding the balance

This is a topic that I personally struggle with when it comes to my development. As someone who wants to be the best at everything she does, the line between too much or too little becomes a little thin and warped. Just when you think you’re doing the right amount of each, something happens and you slump to the ground, and find you’re tired twenty four seven, and you just curl up in your blankets with a tub of ice cream or junk food.

Yeah. We’ve all been there.

So what’s the perfect balance? It’s a hard question to answer, as I believe everyone’s balance is different. There’s no right or wrong in this situation, it’s just about finding the perfect routine for you. And this will involve making mistakes here and there, you’re not going to get it right first time, it comes with trial and error, just like everything else in the world. However if I would suggest anything, it would be this:

Make a Move – that’s the first thing I suggest doing. Write it down or subconsciously say to yourself, ‘from today I’m going to work harder’ or ‘I’m going to remember to have fun today, be a little more easy’. If life was just for work we’d all be mindless drones, no better than a computer with no emotions. Either way, make a decision. If you’re struggling and you can’t tell which one you’re missing out on, then just make a subconscious note to track what you do during the day – whether you spend no time relaxing at all, or if you don’t work at all – and then go from there.

Routine – One you’ve worked out which one you’re lacking – ‘work or play’ – then you can set in place a structure of movements that gets the ball rolling and changes the way you live. It’s a hard thing to do, it involves changing your mindset and attitudes, probably being more positive and kind to yourself, and definitely being strict with yourself. Remember, don’t be too strict though. If you want to be the type of person who works 80% of the day and the other 20% is for relaxing and playing, then be that type of person – if it works for you, and that’s a good balance.

Also remember, everyone is different, so their balances are different. If an 80/20 balance works for you, but someone else is doing 50/50, don’t judge them for it, just politely nod and move on with your day.

Everybody is different.

Speaking of balances, I definitely haven’t got mine right, as once again I’m writing this late at night, and I’m pretty damn tired. So apologies for any typos and if I’m not making sense in the slightest.

Nationwide Jet Lag and HAIR

Most of you may not know this, but I usually write my blog posts after work, so that can differ anywhere between 7pm and 9pm. I usually don’t have a problem with it, my mind is clear, I’m not in the slightest bit tired…which brings me to my upcoming problem – nationwide jet lag.

This morning I woke up before my alarm for the second day in a row, I got ready for work and invented a pretty cool hairstyle (Disclaimer: I didn’t actually invent it. It’s probably been done before).

Let's see how long this twist stays in!! #hair #newhairstyle #hairtwist

A post shared by Sophie-Louise White (@sophielwhiteuk) on

Whilst wet, I just took the front pieces of my hair, twisted them and held them in place with a clip. I did the same for the other side but because I have a side parting it wasn’t as big. But it still looked cute.

Sometimes it’s nice just to try new hair styles and new clothes just to feel refreshed and different.

After this I went to work, about two hours before my shift was due to finish I started to get tired. This isn’t the first time its happened this week either. By the time I’d finished I was exhausted, and after dinner I was ready to go to bed.

I know I’m not the only one either, everybody else has been saying the same thing. My theory? The clocks going back. Since they’ve been put back we’re all one hour out, our mind knows that it’s 9pm, but our body is telling us it’s 10pm so it’s time to sleep. I guess you could call it nationwide jet lag – I’m sure there’s a better word for that, but I can’t find it right now because nwjl (Nationwide Jet Lag 😉 ).

Have you been suffering since the clocks have gone back? Is turning the clocks back something we should stop doing? Let me know in the comments below 🙂 .

TSA America: Level Orange

Today I just wanted to make you guys aware of Misha Collin’s shorts that he made which, if my information is correct, he used to raise money and awareness for his charity Random Acts.

They’re all quite hilarious. Originally I believe he sold tickets and only people with tickets could see the shorts, and the proceeds went to his charity, but now they’ve been released into the awesome world of YouTube for all to see.

I haven’t seen all of them yet, but I’ve watched the one above and the one featuring Danneel Harris Ackles (who I LOVE).

From what I can tell the shorts are about an airport security team in America (please bear in mind my knowledge is limited of American airport procedures), but basically it’s an aiport security team, and each short has a different stranger going through the checks, and each time they ‘opt out’ and get a pat down in different ways from either the ‘male assist’ or the ‘female assist’.

Danneel’s one was entertaining, she’s pregnant and they want to check her bump and get out an ultrasound, and even something else – but I’ll make you watch it to find out.

The other one is quite hilarious, Misha Collins stars as the male assist and he has to pat down a man who doesn’t want to do it in the open, so he takes him to the private room, and from there a relationship blossoms that no other can replace ;).

If you haven’t watched the TSA America shorts, then I highly suggest that you do. It’s because of a great charity that they’re around, and it’s frankly marvellous that we get to see them for free 🙂

I hope you’re all having good weeks, and until next time, I’ll catch ya later Bromigo’s x.

Don’t be good to me, be good to you – Dear No One

If you’re reading this and I saw this on your Facebook wall, virtually kick me and I’ll give you credit for it.

Basically today has a theme, whilst scrolling through Facebook some point today, I saw a post about how someone says to the people they love/like that they shouldn’t be good to them, instead, first, they should be good to themselves.

Do you ever have one of those days where everything seems to be telling you the same thing? Like throughout your entire day something/someone keeps subconsciously pointing you in a direction, that leads to a theme that everything and everyone else is pointing out to you also?

Well I do. And today’s theme seems to be ‘look after yourself’.

My friend Hannah recently posted this song into our group conversation with my other bestie. And it wasn’t until today that I got the chance to listen to it.

Now aside from the gushy wanting of a man in her life, the singer has a point, she sings “So if you’re out there, I swear be good to you.” Her whole song is about her future boyfriend possibly being out there, and how she hasn’t found him yet, so if he’s out there, she just wants him to take care of himself. So he’s ready by the time he gets to her.

Which leads me to think, surely we want that for everyone, including ourselves? I don’t know about you, but most of the time I’m pretty hard on myself, it’s part of the struggle of being a perfectionist, and if I haven’t reached perfectionism then I talk myself down, and beat myself up emotionally.

The song my friend liked, and all the other random things that have happened today, reminded me that I should be good to myself. Treat myself, instead of talking myself down, talk myself up. Sometimes we just get so caught up in the moment, so caught up in life, in all the big drama’s and scary milestones that are coming up, that we forget to just…breathe.

So here’s my own message inspired by the wonderful Tori Kelly:

Dear No One (You)

Life is scary, we’re born, we live, we die. Sometimes it seems like a cycle that’s pointless…but I’m asking you to think. We meet so many scary hurdles in our life, go through so many battles, (some more than others), that we don’t really take a chance to step back.

So, You, I’m asking you to take a step back, breathe, tell yourself that you’re going in the right path. And if you’re in the wrong path? Change it. Trust your gut, but don’t put pressure on yourself to trust it wholly. You’re allowed to make mistakes everybody does, don’t be hard on yourself when you make mistakes.

Be good to yourself, treat yourself, reward yourself. You’re you for a reason, you need to celebrate that every now and again.

Lots of Love and Hugs,

A stranger you probably haven’t even met before.

I thought I’d take this blog post day to say a HUUUGGEEE thank you to everyone who has followed this blog, liked and or commented on my stuff. YOU GUYS ROCK.

Honestly, I can’t thank any of you guys enough. I started this thinking that I’d get no likes at all, but to wake up everyday and see even just ‘1 like’ on my blog post is amazing!! So thank you.

I’m expecting that once I’ve gotten into the proper routine of writing blog posts every night, that this blog has a little more structure coming to it than just random theme’s and thoughts. Expect more reviews coming for shorts and full length films, as well as the usual ramblings, and also maybe a few theme’d days.

Thank you once again for reading this, and for reading all of my other work. I can’t express my love and gratitude enough.

Careful Where You Tread

Today something enlightened me. It’s a thought I’ve had in the past, and it’s a thought I think I’ll continue to have until I’ve finally learnt the lesson – careful where you tread.

I don’t mean this literally of course, I’m not going to be searching the ground before every footstep I make. I mean this in the sense of how we talk to people and conversations. Sometimes life puts us on auto-pilot and we forget that other people are…well people.

Have I just confused you even more? Probably, because I’m confusing myself.

Put it like this, at work today a women requested something but I couldn’t give it to her because she couldn’t find her ID card for the appropriate discount, I was about to roll on about company procedure and how I absolutely refrained from accepting, when she told me that someone passed away today, someone that she knew and my heart broke, I instantly stopped in my tracks and didn’t say about company procedure, I was patient until she found the ID card and I could give her the discount.

This isn’t the first time I’ve nearly put my foot in my mouth. Several times I’ve nearly used a typical everyday expression – e.g break a leg – without thinking that – oh crap you have no legs, oh my gosh I’m so sorry!’ – SEVERAL TIMES. And on MOST occasions I haven’t realised until  AFTER the moments passed and I just sort of ramble and ramble until the other person gets bored of me.

What I’m trying to say is – think before you speak. What may seem automatic and completely ordinary to you, is actually offensive/borderline upsetting for the other person. We each lead different lives, we’re individual’s for a reason.

I hope I’m making sense as I kind of had to rush this blog post.

Until next time, catch ya later Bromigo’s x.
