Motivation Monday – Media Teaches Us

Hi folks

As you know I’ve hit a slump recently, and instead of fighting it, I just decided to accept it. I didn’t beat myself up over it, as much as I wanted to, I just went “okay, you’re in a bad mood. Go deal with it.” And that’s what I did.

So you may be asking, what did you do this weekend? Why didn’t we get a Rambles post on Sunday? Well that’s why. Instead of working or blogging, or Vlogging, I sat and had a day of films and Netflix. Surprisingly it taught me a lot that day, and reminded me that lessons can always be learnt, and the universe throws them out at us whenever it can, especially when we need it. We may not always see it at the time, but they’re still there.

Now I bet you’re thinking; what the hell is she rambling on about?

Let me explain.

You see, when I feel down, I feel like crap – I mean naturally right? Everyone does when they feel down. But I mean, sometimes it gets to the point where you physically can’t do anything, or the thought alone of doing it makes you feel so tired.

So when I was watching ‘About Time’, a film about a guy that can travel back in time only, I really wasn’t expecting a quote from it to lift me up as much as it did. Mainly because, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say this to anybody else. Which told me a few things about society today, but I’ll get into that in a bit. First I’ll give you the quote;  Continue reading

Wayward Daughters Thunderclap

Hey guys!

Happy Wednesday!!

Today I’ve been super duper busy, so this is a quick blog post to inform you guys of something really super awesome happening in America tonight. A new Supernatural episode! Now this isn’t just your average SPN episode, no, this is a special episode with Kathryn Newton, Kim Rhodes, and Katherine Ramdeen, 3/4 Wayward Daughters clan.

Now I could go on and say some of the spoilers that have been released, like episode descriptions and stuff, but I really don’t want to spoil ANY part of it for you guys. Instead I want to draw your attention towards the Thunderclap that has been set up by the wonderful Riley of @WaywardAcademy.

What is Wayward Daughters?

A fandom created spin-off idea that centralises around Jody, Claire, Alex, and Donna!

What is Thunderclap?

From what I can tell it’s something that sends out a specific tweet for you at a specific time. Similar to a flashmob really, but on twitter. So far, at the time of writing this, it is 3/4 of the way to reaching 1,000,000 people when the tweets are published. Which is INCREDIBLE.

Annnd as you can tell from my tweets today, and from previous mentions, I am so so so passionate about the idea of having a Wayward Daughters sequel you have no idea. But I’ll go into more detail about that later on in a vlog.

So join the Thunderclap now whilst you still can, and be part of this awesome thing that’s happening within the fandom! –  https://www.thunderclap.it/en/projects/37231

And whilst you’re at it you should give WaywardAcademy a follow on twitter 🙂

Hope everyone in the US enjoys the episode tonight 😀

**ANNOUNCEMENT**

Announcement Time

Hi guys, just a small announcement here.

In light of writing blog posts every day for 27 days, I’ve decided to cut back and experiment a little, see if it makes a difference with the content I give you guys, and if you like it more. From now on I’ll be posting Mondays, Wednesday’s, Friday’s, and Sunday’s. And of course the usual Thursday Vlog will be posted, with a blog post linked to the video to go with it.

Thank you so much to everyone that reads, likes, shares, and comments on my blogs and vlogs. It truly does mean a lot, and I hope I can keep providing great content for you.

From,

Sophie-L x.

Boy do I need this – Motivation Monday

Hey folks, how ya been?

So I’m aware that I haven’t posted anything since the 27th, and first off let me just give a huge apology to those of you that were expecting a post on this blog the last three days and didn’t get one. However the last three days I just needed a time out. Which I talked about previously a lot, before making this post.

What better a time to talk about this than on Motivation Monday?

Basically my mood kind of dipped, and I’ve been super paranoid about everything and everyone. So I just needed to take a step back, and focus on me for a few days. And said to myself “starting Monday, I’m going to BOSS this.”

So Sunday night, was unplanned and unexpected. After having a Skype chat and game with the Squad, I went to bed and just couldn’t sleep…again. When it came to Monday morning, I did not get up…until 2 hours after my bus was due. Quite obviously, I missed my bus. Which meant I had no transport to get into college without walking for 2 hours to get there, or using a service that overcharged and that I can’t afford.

I DIDN’T LET THAT STOP ME THOUGH.

With the true name of Motivation Monday in mind, I peeled myself out of my duvet and warmth, got some food, and got changed, then sat myself in the office (hence forth known as the ‘cave’) and have done 5 hours plus work on college. Which is MORE than what I would’ve done if I had actually gone to college.

The point of this blog post is, no matter what state of mind you’re in. It’s temporary. If you want to, and you work on it, you can pull yourself out of whatever slump you’re in. No matter how big or how small it is.

You got this.
