Monday Motivation || Moody Monday

Happy Monday guys!!

As we all know it is Motivational Monday (or Monday Motivation) whatever you want to call it. And today I woke up super duper moody. So really, for me, Moody Monday is a little more relevant.

It wasn’t until I realised that I’ve been grumping about everything all day, that I realised “You’re being hella negative today Sophie.”

And it got me thinking.

Negativity is something that can become a real nasty habit. Yes, a habit because that’s exactly what it is. I find that once I start I can’t stop, I’ll spend the rest of the day moaning or complaining and then wonder why I’m in such a bad mood?

Well I can tell myself this, the reason I’m in a bad mood, is because I haven’t said one positive thing all day.

So here goes, positivity:

  • My makeup is pretty on point today.
  • I’ve done 4 1/2 hours worth of college work today – GO ME! YAY!
  • I managed to get help from a friend with Photoshop. Woo!
  • Mum went shopping so now we have a house full of food and I can raid the cupboards anytime I like.

Already I feel a lot lighter. You should try it bromigo’s if you’re having a Moody Monday.

Now I’m going to write some more content for you guys, plan thursdays vlog, and…

Hope you manage to kick its ass too!

Sunday Rambles #4 – Fan-Girl Denial

Happy Sunday folks!

Rambles #4 kinda happened yesterday didn’t it? And the day before that…and the day before that. But you guys seem to be liking this, so I’m just gonna roll with it.

So this past week I’ve been doing some thinking about fan-girls, and fandoms in general. And it came to my attention that I hated being branded as a fan-girl.

Wait a minute.

That may sound straight up rude and weird, but just work with me here.

Why did I hate it? Because most of the time when you say “ugh I’m such a fan-girl” to a complete stranger, or someone who has no passion for TV Shows, they just look at you like you’re a lunatic, and make you feel like it’s something to be embarrassed about. Then naturally, in response, I’d flush a dark red and just sort of cough it out as if my words were never said and I was momentarily possessed to say it.

For a long time this would continue, and I’d hate branding myself as a fan-girl. I’d used to be like “yeah I love the show Supernatural, don’t get me wrong. I go to conventions. But I’m not a huge fan-girl of it” (LOL).

I used to surround myself with those people that would frown upon fan-girlism (is that a thing?) at an attempt to feel “accepted”, or “normal”. When in actuality I was already “normal”, as normal as I can be. And who wants to be normal anyway? Normal’s boring.

Being a fan-girl is something that’s fun, and keeps the passion flaring to do creative art, writing, or vlogs. Is that a bad thing? No. Is that something I should be ashamed/embarrassed about? No.

Fan-girling is fun, and reminds the world that there are good things out there. So yeah. No more shall I brand myself as someone who isn’t a fan-girl, I’m a huge fan-girl, loud and proud. Praise it! And if you’re a fan-girl (or guy) too sing it to the top of the roof.

Okay that last sentence was cheesey, I’ma go now.

Lemon Meringue Pie Debate||National Pie Day

Happy National Pie Day!!!!

Dean pie

Yes that’s right, it’s national pie day, and I have failed in my duty to have any pie. I am so sorry bromigo’s. I tired, I really did but by the time I got to the shops, THEY HAD SOLD OUT OF LEMON MERINGUE PIE.

Now let me tell you a story,

as I’m writing this, I’m on skype with a friend. And they just announced to me that Lemon Meringue isn’t actually a PIE.

My argument is that it’s called a LEMON MERINGUE PIE. His argument is that you can’t call it a pie because it doesn’t have an upper crust or something (idek he doesn’t make sense).

Anywhoo, this has now become a big debate between us and our friends. So if you wanna jump in on the bandwagon and send us your thoughts, you can do.

Help us figure out this topic, and vote:

Apparently and I quote “Dean Winchester wouldn’t be caught eating Lemon Meringue Pie”.

Help us figure it out guys.

So today has been a bit of a whirlwind for me, well actually it’s been a bit of a strange WEEK. So I wanted to keep this blog post short and sweet, a gentle reminder as such. Because I’m pretty sure I did a blog on this a year ago.

Looking for a perfect way to gee yourself up? A way that you can feel more motivated and be in high spirits? Want this way to last about 4 minutes?

Easy. Just pick a song. And dance to it.

Like no, seriously, dance around in your room, look like an idiot to anyone else, but to you, YOU ROCK IT. Go with the song, FEEL the song. BE the song.

Okay so I won’t go that far into it.

But you get what I’m saying. I didn’t really want to do any work today, I sat at my desk and just sort of sighed. Then I put on this song (no judging please):

And I danced around and then sat down afterwards and got on with work as if nothing ever happened.

So I challenge YOU, to do the same today folks. DANCE LIKE NOBODY IS WATCHING.

Vlog Thursday – Tough Mudder????

Hi guys, hope all my SPN Family are still awake and with today, even after the emotional trauma of a new episode. The promo alone destroyed me.

As you all know it is THURSDAY! YAY! Which means one thing, and one thing only. VLOG DAY!

A slightly goofy vlog day, and one that I had such fun doing! So I hope you guys enjoy it and remember that thumbs up button 👍😄.

Guest Post | Rhonda | SPN Family

Hi all. I’m Rhonda, *waves* and I am so excited to be writing here on Sophie’s blog! The way Sophie and I ‘met’ was quite fortuitious actually, and it wasn’t until we got to chatting that we realized we have many things in common. And so we decided to guest post on one another’s blogs. You can read her post over at because I’m sure you’re going to want to read it!  One of those things that we have in common is that we are both a part of the SPN Family.

Since you’re following Sophie’s blog I’ll assume you already know what the SPN Family is, but let me tell you tell you a little more about how important it is and how life changing it really can be; the span it has, and the impact on lives it can have. I know it’s “just a tv show” but it can really be more than that.

It can be a family.

I’m new to the family. I have had Supernatural on my Netflix queue for a very long time, but I had never gotten around to watching it. I was a fan of Jared Padalecki in Gilmore Girls, so I was semi reluctant to watch him in another show so soon. Particularly when he wouldn’t be playing the Dean character. It was silly on my part, but Americans are prone to frivolity. 😉

This past year, during Spring Break, (I’m a school teacher) I finally started watching it. I think I actually watched the first three seasons in one week. I was completely hooked. I began reading the fanfics, looking up the actors, the writers, connecting with other fans, learning of gishwhes, participating in gishwhes, basically I was living and breathing everything SPN related. I told every person alive that they should be watching it, and I worked it into nearly every single conversation. The show gets into your soul. I mean, it has you saying things like: I really love Lucifer, and Death is so funny. You guys know what I mean, right?

So how important is the SPN Family?

Just to give you an idea. If you are on Facebook, just search SPN support groups. There are a lot of them. This show brings together groups of people who band together to support one another through tough times. I am in one of these support groups. We have over 1,600 members. That is a lot of people with one singular thing bringing them together talking about their most intimate issues to virtual strangers with out shame. And these strangers are offering their unconditional support. It’s truly an amazing thing. People in these groups have offered their love, help, and support to complete strangers out of the kindness of their hearts just because they are fellow humans in need and “just a tv show” brought them together.

Misha Collins created Random Acts, a charity dedicated to random acts of kindness, for the sole purpose of encouraging people to be nice. And once a year all of these people brought together by “just a tv show” form groups to do nice things, have fun, and defy normalcy. Jared Padalecki created AKF or Always Keep Fighting to encourage people who are fighting any mental or physical illness to always keep fighting no matter what. Yes it might be “just a tv show” but it’s a tv show that has joined millions of people world wide into a family that supports one another in their battles.

It’s a family because as this tv show has taught us family doesn’t end in blood.

Bored of Being a Girl

Do you ever get bored of being a girl? It’s difficult – nails, hair, whatever. And all the products are pink, and girly and flowers and butterflies. I’m a chick, but what if I want a race car themed kitchen???

I’m such a child shh.

But seriously, one thing that’s been bugging me is how gender stereotypical everything is. From a young age we’re brought up to believe that pink is for girls, and blue is for boys. And until very recently that’s the way its always been.

Now? Now guys like to wear girls clothes, and girls like to shop in the mens section because their shirts are hella awesome. Just FYI.

Do you ever just get tired of walking around a women’s clothing store and seeing the same strappy dress that was in fashion last year, but wait they’ve changed a small detail so that makes it different???

Maybe it’s just me, but I kinda just get bored of it. It makes me want to search for whacky clothes that no-one else knows about, like printed leggings that have this massive wild crazy design on them that will make people think “what the hell is she wearing?” Something completely unconventional.

And why shouldn’t we? What, just because we’re a girl we have to wear winged eyeliner, a face full of foundation, a dress with a cardigan and heels,  have painted nails and perfect hair? No. I’m a girl, and I like my jeans, and tops, and leather jackets.

I guess this comes down to a point that I’ve been trying to make for a while now. Don’t give a f*** about what people think. Dress how you wanna dress, shop in the men’s section, shop in whatever section you want, and just do it. Don’t get bored. And if you do get bored? Go out and get some hella whacky clothing, or something completely weird and original.

Thus concludes my advice for today. A slightly rambly one, but a blog post none-the-less. I’ve been going at this everyday since the 1st January, and I just want to take a moment to say thanks to every single reader, liker, commenter, and sharer that I’ve had. Your support means so much to me. I would now like your advice, do you think that I should continue doing daily blogs in february? OR should I slim them down and do three a week with a Sunday Rambles post for extra measure? Let me know in the comments below? I’d love your input!

Until next time, catch ya later bromigo’s!
