NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CAKE DAY

I’ve done this completely backwards it seems, as today is National Chocolate Cake Day, and just last week, was National Pie Day….on National Pie Day I had chocolate cake, and ON NATIONAL CHOCOLATE DAY, I had Cottage PIE.

Everyone, I think I deserve a slap to the face. I AM A DISGRACE.

As a punishment, I’ve just looked at a picture of a chocolate cake, and now I really really crave one, and I can’t even have one because it’s too late to go to the shops and they’ve probably all sold out.

THIS IS JUST LIKE THE LEMON MERINGUE PIE SITUATION AGAIN (and yes that’s right IT’s A GOD DARNED PIE).

yum

**Picture not mine, credit goes to recipeblogs (I think??)**

Just look at it, look at that cake and tell me it’s not screaming out to be eaten. Appreciate its icing, and cakey goodness.

I don’t know why I do this to myself.

Anyway bromigo’s, tomorrow is vlog day featuring a special performance from someone (You’ll understand tomorrow, by the title alone), as well as a location scout with another friend. And I’ve got footage to edit to give you all my first ‘short’ or rather ‘music video’ of 2016.

I just have to figure out adobe premiere pro cc 2015 first…

Hope you’re all having fantastic days.

And remember, YOU’RE AMAZING!

Sunday Rambles #4 – Fan-Girl Denial

Happy Sunday folks!

Rambles #4 kinda happened yesterday didn’t it? And the day before that…and the day before that. But you guys seem to be liking this, so I’m just gonna roll with it.

So this past week I’ve been doing some thinking about fan-girls, and fandoms in general. And it came to my attention that I hated being branded as a fan-girl.

Wait a minute.

That may sound straight up rude and weird, but just work with me here.

Why did I hate it? Because most of the time when you say “ugh I’m such a fan-girl” to a complete stranger, or someone who has no passion for TV Shows, they just look at you like you’re a lunatic, and make you feel like it’s something to be embarrassed about. Then naturally, in response, I’d flush a dark red and just sort of cough it out as if my words were never said and I was momentarily possessed to say it.

For a long time this would continue, and I’d hate branding myself as a fan-girl. I’d used to be like “yeah I love the show Supernatural, don’t get me wrong. I go to conventions. But I’m not a huge fan-girl of it” (LOL).

I used to surround myself with those people that would frown upon fan-girlism (is that a thing?) at an attempt to feel “accepted”, or “normal”. When in actuality I was already “normal”, as normal as I can be. And who wants to be normal anyway? Normal’s boring.

Being a fan-girl is something that’s fun, and keeps the passion flaring to do creative art, writing, or vlogs. Is that a bad thing? No. Is that something I should be ashamed/embarrassed about? No.

Fan-girling is fun, and reminds the world that there are good things out there. So yeah. No more shall I brand myself as someone who isn’t a fan-girl, I’m a huge fan-girl, loud and proud. Praise it! And if you’re a fan-girl (or guy) too sing it to the top of the roof.

Okay that last sentence was cheesey, I’ma go now.

HOW HAVE I ONLY JUST DISCOVERED HALSEY!?

I don’t even remember how I discovered her???? All I remember is one minute I remember seeing her name on twitter everywhere, and then the next, I’m listening to her albums non-stop.

How did I discover Halsey? Now that I don’t know the answer to that, it’s kind of freaking me out a little.

It was probably a Supernatural fan-vid.

MOVING ON

I am a Halsey addict. Yep. Her music is incredible and nothing you can tell me can convince me otherwise. I’ve even listened to her live album on Spotify, and it’s more awesome than the studio recorded stuff. She has the voice of an angel!

What’s my top songs, I hear you ask? Well. I’ll list them for you. Although they’re going to be numbered, this is in no particular order whatsoever.

1. Control

2. Drive

3. Gasoline

4. Young God

5. Hold Me Down

6. New Americana

7. Walk The Line

There’s so many more awesome songs out there, but these ones in particular I’m addicted too. Someone told me that they thought her music was “samey” and I had to agree with them, but that’s one of the reasons I love her music so damn much! The mood never changes, it’s a CD full of the same atmosphere, which is brilliant if you’re a writer, because you can have the whole album on repeat instead of the same one song over and over again.

What do you guys think? Yay? Nay?

Guilty Fandom Fashions

Do you ever watch a TV programme, then find yourself suddenly styling your outfits to match a certain character without even realising it? For example, when I marathon’d Pretty Little Liars, I suddenly found myself walking round shops, picking up nail varnish and purses that I wouldn’t normally go for and thinking to myself “Well this is cute”, and then looking at a top and thinking the same, before I quickly realised that it was probably something that Hanna or Emily would wear.

Thanks you gorgeous girls you.

PLL fashion

I’ve never been one to pride myself in fashion, especially high fashion, usually I just stick on a pair of skinny jeans, grab the nearest plaid, and/or top, and then head out the door. Caring more about how frizzy my hair is than anything else. Recently though, I’ve discovered that after watching certain TV programmes, I’m guilty of choosing certain clothes because I’ve been influenced by a TV character.

Yep. Pretty lame. But it’s a guilty addiction. Sometimes I even find myself trying to find a jacket or a dress that’s similar to a characters. Most of the times it’s for cosplay reasons, but I digress.

For example:

Cassie

I’ve kind of always admired Britt Robertson’s outfits and styles that her character’s have, and her character Cassie from Secret Circle seriously has the best style. Sometimes it can be a bit whacky and I wouldn’t wear everything that she wears. But I would seriously consider wearing something like the outfit in the photo above. And that’s weird coming from someone like me who lives in denim jeans and leather jackets.

claire novak

Which brings us over to Supernatural. Now I’m no fan of the bootcut jeans, and usually that’s what the female characters wear in this programme (they are awesome just FYI), but Claire (as far as I remember) wears skinny jeans, leather jackets, and a t-shirt, or a plaid. And this is already literally my style, so I guess it’s not really a ‘guilty’ fandom fashion, I guess the only guilty part is that I have a cosplay hoodie that is an exact replica from Claire’s on the show, and I wear it like all the time…yup.

And here we have Britt Robertson again, Lux, her character has a really awesome sense of style (wow that’s a sentence I never thought I’d write), the top and the jacket above with that necklace is seriously an outfit I’d consider wearing.

Oh my god what is wrong with me. I need to go wear my leather jacket to make me feel more me again.

clemence-poesy-skirt TV-Fasion-Serena-Van-Der-Woodsen-Gossip-Girl-1.1Last but not least we have Gossip Girl, JUST LOOK AT THOSE OUTFITS. Seriously. Like half my style, and half not. That’s why I’m guilty of this one, plus I’m pretty sure all those outfits are hella expensive, so yeah. Won’t be wearing those anytime soon. And I’m pretty sure they’re “out of fashion” because season 1 and 2 were like YEARS ago.

There ya have it bromigo’s.  If I were the type of girl to do ootd’s, or ootm/w, then they would be my outfits.

Buuuuut I’m not.

So instead have a rambly blog post about outfits I don’t own, and how I have a small inner desire to be more involved in outfits. More everyday outfits, than high fashion.

And I’ve just realised this is probably why I like cosplaying certain characters, ‘cos it’s literally my ‘fashion’ half the time. Annnd I’ve also just realised that they all have blonde hair, and pale-ish skin. So really…no comment. I’m too wrapped up in outfits to comment.

With that bombshell, thus ends the blog post.

Catch ya later bromigo’s.

Sunday Rambles #1 – My Mind Palace

SO MUCH IS HAPPENING IN MY MIND.

I’m not even kidding.

When 2016 arrived I thought I’d got my plans pretty much laid out, and I had. I have my blogging schedule, my vlogging schedule, as well as a few special video ideas that I had planned. My first vlog is happening this coming Thursday with a montage and a few spoilers for what’s to come this year, and I thought that my head would be a lot clearer because I’m being so damn organised. (I know right? I must be sick)

But no.

No.

Now my head is spiralling and I just keep getting more and more ideas and my creativity levels are at an all time high and I’d be lying if I said I DIDN’T LOVE IT.

Side note: This is what being on crack must feel like.

Anywhoooo right now I have FanFiction ideas, novel ideas, vlog ideas, filming ideas, college ideas, and my head is a spiral of a tornado and I’m just waiting to land.

I’m definitely not complaining, I just really wish that my thoughts would be a heck of a lot clearer. But on the other hand I guess that having a cold doesn’t help.

That’s right folks, I saw the back of 2015 with a groggy cold, that’s still kinda here in 2016, so I guess that’s trying to block the creativity in my head.

Also I’m seeing the New Year in with unemployment, so I have a complete fresh start in 2016, and it’s another thing I have to process. I may only be 22, but I still have bills to pay, so it’s kind of scary to think that I’m not getting a fixed income right now. Plus I’ve not been unemployed since I was 16, that’s also scary.

But that’s what 2016 is all about right? EMBRACING CHANGE AND FEAR. AND HAVING A POSITIVE OUTLOOK. AND OVERCOMING INNER DEMONS.

So this weeks ramble is brought to you by my mind. And how right now on my list of things to do, other than this blog post, I need to:

  • Find a suitable day job.
  • Film another vlog
  • Finish scripting a short film
  • Start planning a short trailer for college
  • Also do college work
  • Find a healthier alternative to caffeine because tired
  • Reward self with chocolate afterwards

I already feel like my mind is clearer. Thanks for reading guys. And welcome to my mind palace…

….

See what I did there.

How’s your 2016 going so far? And if you have any advice on how to get a clearer mind, feel free to leave it in the comments below.

Until next time, catch ya later Bromigo’s.

Challenge – Treat Yourself

Today has been a rough day bromigo’s, which is why today’s blog post is going to be short and sweet.

Plan:

– eat pizza

– watch Agents of Shield.

From time to time we forget the lessons we’ve previously learnt, and how far we’ve come from the place we were previously in. So if you relapse from whatever you’ve been trying not to relapse from, just treat yourself. Spend that little bit of extra money on yourself for something extra nice, and just take the time to breathe.

It’s fair to say that although we learn many lessons in life, sometimes something happens which means we have to relearn what we’ve previously learnt. Just sit back, be kind to yourself, breathe and think it through. Whilst you do that just treat yourself and chill out, don’t stress yourself out over it, or beat yourself up either.

That’s today’s message from me.

Until next time, catch ya later Bromigo’s x.
